$5 billion a year laundered by gangs in Colombia

Criminal organizations make an annual profit of approximately $5 billion in Colombia through money laundering, according to the Unit of Financial Information and Analysis and the World Bank.

According to the study, the illegal money laundering industry makes up 2 of Colombia’s entire GDP.
