Daniel Ortega, the Nicaraguan president gave an assurance that his country’s plans for an inter-oceanic canal "do not represent any threat to Panama’s waterway”.
Meanwhile, leaders of the region’s maritime industry say that see the Nicaraguan project as “positive”.
