B2Gold has temporarily shut its underground mine in Nicaragua while rescuers search for a worker who went missing when the mine flooded during heavy rains.
The Vancouver-based mining company said that one worker remained unaccounted for after heavy rains forced the evacuation of its Limón mine, 100 kilometres northwest of Managua. Limón is a 1,000 tonne per day underground and open pit gold mine with a current estimated life of five years.
