Canadian investors eye Costa Rica

Canadian business leaders expressed their interest to invest in Costa Rica on Monday during meetings with the Central American nation's President, Luis Guillermo Solís, in Toronto.

"We met with companies who have been, or will come to Costa Rica soon, and confirmed that our country has a prestigious record in democratic and economic achievements, as well as a highly competitive workforce," Solís said.

Over the past five years, Canadian businesses have invested $173 million in Costa Rica, including Scotiabank, Four Seasons and most recently, manufacturing firm Gildan.
