Wal-Mart de México (Walmex) has seen its second-quarter net profit rise nearly by a quarter, as revenue rose due to the acquisition of outlets in Central America.
For the quarter ending June, net profit jumped up 24 percent year-on- year to $360 million. The results were helped by the addition of the Central American operations, which it acquired from parent Wal-Mart Stores and regional investors in February.
The company has opened 77 stores so far this year, bringing its total to 2,067 outlets, including 526 in Central America.
