Chill winds blowing over Mexico, say economists

The Mexican economy is cooling down, as indicated by the recent official figures soft December, according to a wide range of economists.
Imports dropped by 0.8 percent year on year, their first annual contraction since April of 2017. Oil imports showed a 7.5 percent drop.
Jonathan Heath, who has recently become a member of the central bank's executive committee, said that these and other data point to a negative trend in the economy.
