Cisco to invest $4 billion in Mexico

Cisco Systems plans to spend as much as $4 billion in Mexico over the next couple of years, a person with knowledge of the matter said, providing a boost to the Latin American country amid a political debate in the U.S. over trade between the nations.

The biggest maker of equipment that runs the Internet will reveal the plans to upgrade its factories and increase production through contract manufacturers, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the news isn’t public yet.
