Costa Rica closes doors to foreign tourism
Wednesday, March 18, 2020
For 25 days, Costa Rica will close its doors to international tourism. As part of the nation’s declaration of a State of Emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will not allow foreigners or non-residents to enter the country from today through April12.
The decree, paired with a strong recommendation that citizens stay home and avoid non-essential travel, means Costa Rica has effectively shuttered one of its biggest industries: tourism, the Tico Times reports.
