Costa Rica needs to expand export markets

Costa Rican companies should look to alternative markets after new signals that the US economy is becoming weaker, Costa Rican daily La República reported.
One option for Costa Rican firms is to use the recently subscribed association agreement between Europe and Central America, as current data points to consumer recovery in Europe.
Asia represents another strong option, as 15 percent of Costa Rica's electronic component exports are sent to Asia by companies such as Intel.
