Costa Rica's currency is a regional leader

 

Costa Rica’s colón has remained steady in value while leading currencies in the region, such as those of Colombia and Mexico, are dropping rapidly.

A strong currency has major advantages for any economy, but it does have disadvantages also, particularly for exporters and tourism.
