Crime chases away investment in Honduras
Thursday, April 10, 2014
Crime, legal insecurity and the length of time to establish a company are chasing away foreign investment to Honduras, U.S. ambassador to the Central American country Lisa Kubiske said.
Last year, foreign investment to Honduras reached $1.01 billion, $44 million less than 2012.
For establishing a company in the country, Kubiske highlighted the case of a mining firm that presented its application to operate seven months ago, but has yet to receive an answer from the authorities.
