Dredging International wins key Panama Canal contract

The Panama Canal Authority announced that Dredging International has been awarded the contract to dredge an area of the Panama Canal's manmade body of water, Gatun Lake. The dredging project is another integral element of the canal's expansion program.
After a thorough review of the lowest priced proposal, the authority awarded the contract to Dredging for $39.9 million.
The other contenders were China Harbour Engineering Company, Boskalis International, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, Van Oord and Jan De Nul.
