Ecopetrol overtakes Petrobras as Latin number one

Colombia's Ecopetrol has become Latin America's number one company in terms of capitalization, above Brazil's Petrobras.

Ecopetrol's capitalization stood at $129 billion last Friday, while the figure for Petrobras was $126 billion.

Ecopetrol was placed at spot number 14 in the 2012 energy sectorranking, published by Platts.
