El Salvador faces $420 million bill for coffee rust

Saving El Salvador's coffee plantations, affected by coffee rust, could cost up to $420 million, according to experts.

It's another blow to the country's economy, which this year dropped from 41 to 53 in the rankings of the Heritage Foundation's economic freedom index.

According to there Heritage Foundation, headquartered in Washington, there is less freedom to invest in El Salvador, as well as ineffective anti-corruption policies and controls on public spending.
