El Salvador gets $1.5 billion building boost

Thursday, December 18, 2014

A group of 20 companies are planning to invest $1.5 billion in construction projects in El Salvador over the next five years, the Salvadoran construction chamber said.

Although it is entirely private investment, the companies will sign a deal with the chamber in order for the projects to get green light, said Oscar Ortíz, vice president of the country.

Included in the projects are homes, offices and shopping malls.
