El Salvador has the lowest inflation

At a -0.62% interannual rate as of September, El Salvador has the lowest inflation in the region, followed by Costa Rica at -0.44%, according to the Central American Monetary Council (Spanish only).

The figure represents a decline of 1.27% over the previous year.

Costa Rica had the fastest rate of decline, at 5%.

Honduras had the region’s highest inflation, at 2.57%.

The report, which excludes Panama, is based on the price of a basket of goods and services in each country (figures in percentages).
