El Salvador is champion of growth in textiles

El Salvador recorded the highest growth in sales of any of the countries that export textiles and garments to the United States in the first half of the year.

Now it aims to achieve $2.3 billion by the close of 2018, some 6 percent more that last year, thanks to the cotton and sports clothing in which is specializes.

The success of the garment industry in El Salvador is in sharp contrast to the difficulties that the industry faces in Nicaragua, now in a severe political and economic crisis.
