El Salvador reports regional’s worst results for tourism industry in 2009

El Salvador had by far the poorest results of the tourist industry during 2009 in Central America.
The 2009 figures reported by each country’s tourism ministry shows that Nicaragua’s tourism arrivals increased by 8.6 percent, followed by Guatemala in 3.58 percent and Honduras by 1.99 percent.
Negative figures were reported by Panama, at –0.8 percent, Costa Rica con –8 percent, and –21 percent by El Salvador.
