Thursday, August 9, 2018
Colombia and Honduras the regional leaders in coffee production, have joined forces in beating the feared crop disease known as coffee rust.
Both nations have a centralized association of coffee producers that supply farmers rust-resistant plants and technicians with know-how. Banks also provide the farmers with financial assistance.
In other countries, such as El Salvador, producers are left to their own devices. The consequence has been new breaks of the disease.
