Free-zone plants in Honduras take flight

Some 3,600 workers have lost their jobs in four companies from the industrial free zones in Honduras.

Of the four, two have simply closed shop, but the others have moved to Nicaragua.

The industry leader, Guillermo Matamoros, says that the free zones still have 108,000 jobs, mainly in northern Honduras.
