Guatemala flooded by smartphones

Guatemala is a country with an average personal income of $3,700 a year, but in the first five months of 2015, it imported $240 million in cellphones, a 78% increase.
Industry sources say that two factors are being the boom. One is that smartphones can cost as little as $27. The other is that the operators have abolished most roaming charges.
