Guatemala's exports stagnate on weaker demand

Guatemala's exports reached $4.57 billion from January to May this year, the Bank of Guatemala said.

The figure shows stagnant sales, with a 2.7 percent growth compared with the same period last year, due to weaker external demand from the U.S., Mexico and Central America.

Of the country's 25 main export products, 12 showed a drop, including cardamom, perfumes, coffee, sugar, precious metals and oil.
