Guatemala’s Grupo Pharma opened the first 15 of its 200 Farmacias de la Comunidad planned for El Salvador.
Pharma’s growth plans are heavily concentrated, however, on North America. Its Industrias Bioquímicas unit aims to export 14 new pharmaceutical products at the United States and Mexico from Next month.
Grupo Pharma currently controls some 28 percent of Guatemala’s Pharmaceutical market. In May it announced the opening of 400 pharmacies and a $25 million investment in a generics factory in southern Mexico.
