Guatemala’s Transactel in bid to maintain its regional leadership in call centers
Monday, July 26, 2010
Guatemala-based Transactel is Central America’s largest call center.
It was launched 15 years ago when nobody knew in Guatemala what a call center was.
Transactel hires 300 workers a month, but the churn rate is massive. Every month, about 100 to 150 employees quit.
The company currently has a 4,200-strong workforce in Guatemala and El Salvador. And some of the workers include all sorts, including members of the feared “mara” gangs.
