Guatemala seeks to reactivate Canada trade talks
Wednesday, April 9, 2014
An investment protection accord in Guatemala is a key step for the country to continue negotiating a free trade agreement with Canada, the Guatemala-Canada chamber of commerce said.
Without the investment protection accord, the conditions to reactivate the talks are not ideal, chamber director Luis Arriaza said.
Canada has invested some $2 billion in Guatemala over the past eight years, making it one of the Central America's top investors.
