Guatemala's textile sector is forecasting up to 5 percent growth in its exports on increasing demand in Haiti and Nicaragua, according to the Association of Apparel and Textile Industry, Vestex.

Vestex president Alejandro Ceballos expects Guatemalan textile exports to the U.S., its major trading partner, to remain stable in 2014.

From January to September 2013, the country's textile exports hit $ 1.14 billion, 7.7 percent more compared to the same period a year before.
