Guatemalan banks finance major tourism projects in Honduras. Los Micos Beach and Golf Resort and Pristine Bay Resort, Golf and Spa

Guatemalan banks have played a major role in syndicated loans for two leading Honduran tourism developments, at Bahía de Tela on the island of Roatán.

Banrural is taking a part of the $24 million financing of the second stage of Los Micos Beach & Golf Resort at Bahía de Tela, a luxury public-private development.

In addition, Mercom Bank, an offshore unit of the Agromercantil group joined the Honduran bank Ficohsa in a $2.5 million loan for Pristine Bay Resort, Golf & Spa, on Roatán.
