Guatemalan emigrants’ remittances rose by 5.5 percent last year to $4.1 billion

The remittances sent by Guatemala’s emigrants to their families back home have recovered from the 9.3 percent loss in 2009.
Last year closed with a 5.5 percent increase after rising to $4.13 billion compared with $3.91 billion in 2009.
In December, the emigrants sent $348.4 million, a 7.4 percent year-on-year increase.
