Honduras expected to earn $60 million in exports of tilapia to the United States. Ecuador being beaten as leading supplier

Exports of Honduran tilapia to the United States are expected to earn $60 million this year. In the first half of the year, they reached $20 million.

Sales by Honduras have replaced those of Ecuador, formerly the leading exporter of tilapia to the United States.

Tilapia fillets are one of the main sources of export earnings for the economy of Honduras. Last year they earned $57.1 million.
