Honduras gets back to growing melons in wake of heavy rains. Asian and European countries show interest in buying

After the heavy rains, melon production was revived in the southern region of Honduras.

The goal is to overcome the currency flow that was obtained in the 2010-2011 cycle, in the order of $50.6 million, a record. At the Santa Rosa farm, located in the community of Yusguare, Choluteca, they are transplanting seedlings for December`s harvest. In the last harvest 13 million boxes were exported, among melons, watermelons and mixed melons, representing an increased volume and slight rise in price.
