Honduras restores ties with three countries

Monday, December 15, 2014

Honduras restored its diplomatic relations with Cuba, Ecuador and Venezuela, 10 months after President Juan Orlando Hernández took office on January 2014.

Cuba, Ecuador and Venezuela withdrew their ambassadors from Honduras after the coup against the former President Manuel Zelaya in June 2009, however, throughout this year the three countries named their new ambassadors in Honduras.

Honduras is also seeking to create solid diplomatic ties with Russia, Turkey, Kuwait, Indonesia, Palestine, Morocco and United Arab Emirates.
