Honduras to export shrimp to Asia

Honduras's shrimp sector has attracted the attention of China, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Honduran producers are preparing to increase production volume in order to meet the requirements for their first shipments to those countries, scheduled for 2015, said Ricardo Gómez, director of the Honduran aquaculture association.

From January to October, producers have exported 45 million pounds of shrimp worth $150 million.
