Korea-built cable car to boost tourism on Guatemala volcano

Local authorities and businesses in Guatemala are investing $22.5 million to build a cable car from the municipality of Santa María de Jesús to the crater of the Water Volcano, a noted beauty spot for tourists.

The cable car will accompany an ecological park and a three-star hotel. Construction is due to begin in January and will last for two years.

The cable car will have a capacity of 101 passengers. It will be imported from South Korea.
