Korean companies mull $1.5 billion in Panama mines

Juan Carlos Varela, the vice-president and foreign minister of Panama, said that companies from South Korea and Singapore are keen to invest $1.5 billion in the Minera Panamá project.
The project, which is at its initial stages in the province of Coclé, is expected to generate 5,000 jobs.
Total investment in the project is expected to be some $5 billion.
