Mangrove destruction threatens shrimp industry
Thursday, March 27, 2014
The Honduran government has created a committee to investigate the reported destruction of mangrove forests in the shrimp-farming regions of Choluteca and Valle.
The committee will stay for a period of 10 days in both regions to the south of the country.
Recently the government was alerted of the construction of illegal shrimp farms in Choluteca, which puts the country's shrimp industry at risk.
