Martinelli claims his successor will come from party

Ricardo Martinelli, the president of Panama, gave an assurance that his successor will come from his Cambio Democrático party in the 2014 presidential election.

Martinelli was speaking during the party Congress in which he claimed that Panama, under his rule, has become "an oasis of prosperity".

The president recalled major public works programs, including the capital's metro, the clean-up of the bay, irrigation schemes and others.
