Millicom International mulls plans to acquire Central American cable operators

Luxembourg-based mobile operator Millicom International Cellular has forecast capex of $800 million for 2011.

The company might acquire some small cable operators in Central America, but it does not expect the investment amount to be significant.

Tigo, Millicom's brand in Latin America, has been launching Tigo Cash in several countries, allowing users to transfer money from their airtime accounts, as well Tigo Lends You, in which the company lends customers emergency airtime minutes when they run out of credit.
