Nationwide strike today in Nicaragua in effort to achieve peace

A nationwide strike began today in Nicaragua with the backing of leading business groupings.

The stated aim of the strike is to relaunch peace talks tomorrow with the aid of mediators and witnesses from the Catholic Church.
