New locks boost Panama Canal

Income from the Panama Canal's third set of locks is living up to predictions and is already generating almost half of the toll revenue with the transit of post-panamax ships.

In the first seven months of fiscal year 2019 the tolls collected by the old structures added $802 million, while the new locks produced $724 million, Newsroom Panama reports.
