Nippon Steel to build Mexico plant for auto industry

Nippon Steel and several Japanese partners have formed a joint venture to build a steel plant in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato to supply the automotive industry.
The $39.6 million plant is expected to begin production in mid-2013 in the city of Silao and employ about 200 people.
The plant will have the capacity to produce some 24,000 tonnes of steel parts annually.
