Panama free zone boosts trade to $1.7 billion in January

Trade in the Panamanian free trade zone of Colon, one of the world's busiest FTZs, increased 24.7 percent in January compared to the same period the year before.
The zone, where nearly 2,500 companies are operating, said it saw $1.7 billion in trade in the first month of the year, including $776 million in imports and $943 million in reexports.
