Panama raises $500 million in samurai bond issue

Panama issued its first-ever $500 million bond issue in Japanese markets as it seeks to diversify its sources of financing.
The samurai bonds are backed by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
The issue was oversubscribed by 100 percent but it was pegged at $500 million as previously agreed.
