Panama's big new cruise port to be ready for next season

Construction of the new Amador cruise port in Panama should be complete bye the middle of next year, President Juan Carlos Varela announced.

The builders are a consortium of China Harbour Engineering and Belgium's Jan de Nul.

Jorge Barakat, the administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority, told Xinhua that the new terminal should be ready for the high season for cruises next year. It will be able to handle two mega-cruise ships and having a capacity of 10,000 passengers.
