Plastic surgery gains ground among tourists to Costa Rica

Thousands of foreign visitors to Costa Rica are checking in for cosmetic surgical procedures lured by the quality and relatively low cost by comparison with the United States and Europe.

Demand is growing by 20 percent a year for operations conducted by Costa Rican surgeons who have been trained overseas in most cases.
