Price controls benefit most Panamanians

Thursday, July 24, 2014

Sixty percent of Panamanians have benefitted from a price control measure on 22 basic products, according to a Dichter & Neira poll.

Sixty-one percent of participants said the price control measure is sustainable in the long-run.

The emergency price control measure is the first to be implemented of President Juan Carlos Varela's campaign promises, and aims to tackle price speculation and help the country's poor.
