Private firms shake up Mexico tremors

Two years after a devastating earthquake struck Mexico City, killing more than 200 people and damaging thousands of buildings, the city’s government is feuding with private technology startups over who warns residents about approaching temblor.

Officials say too many services can undermine confidence; competitors say they help improve early warnings, the Wall Street Journal reports.
