SkyPower to invest $1 billion on solar energy in Panama

After announcing significant solar investments in several African and Asian nations over the past weeks, on Tuesday SkyPower Global said it plans to build a 500-MW solar plant in Panama for a total cost of $1 billion.

The Canada-based company intends to realise the project over the next five years. The plan includes establishing a solar and environmental research centre in Panama for a total investment of about $50 million in partnership with several universities and research institutions.
