Software and call centers boost Guatemala

Even though services like call centers or software programming remain a hazy component in global trade data, services exports are a bright spot for the Guatemalan economy.
“Despite not having clear and detailed figures on services exports in Guatemala, due to lack of data from the official sources, we export more than $2.8 billion per year in services like telecommunications, research and development, consulting and financial services,” Ninoshka Linde, chief director at BPO Guatemala, told BNamericas.
