Switzerland to open business center in Mexico

Switzerland announced it will upgrade its trade office in Mexico to a business center, aiming to boost bilateral ties.

The new center is expected to open in March this year, according to Gerardo Velázquez Chéquer, head of Economic Affairs at the Mexican embassy in Switzerland.

Currently, only 0.7 percent of Switzerland's exports go to Mexico, despite the Swiss government acknowledging Mexico as an important gateway to the U.S. and the rest of Latin America.
