Venezuela now imports more beef from Nicaragua than does the United States

So far this year, Venezuela has become the leading export market for Nicaraguan beef. The United States, long Nicaragua’s leading importer, has been moved into second place.

Twelve countries import Nicaraguan beef. In the first seven months of this year, they have imported 49.3 million kilos, earning $172.4 million.

Venezuela has bought 32,74 percent, ahead of the US, with 31.46 percent. El Salvador, Puerto Rico and Taiwan, take from 4 percent to 17 percent.
